Roots of Ethiopia, new website promoting community tourism

A website, http://www.rootsofethiopia.com, designed to showcase and promote various community products for tourism was launched in Addis Abbaba.

The website is intended to support the plans to make Ethiopia a notable tourist destination said Tadelech Dalecho, State Minister for Culture and Tourism at the launch.

The Ministry is committed to collaborate with stakeholders in the sector to implement the Tourism Policy which seeks to make Ethiopia amongst the top 5 tourist destinations in Africa by 2020 she said.
www.rootsofethiopia.com and other websites like it can play a significant role in realizing the plans of the ministry noted Tadelech.

The website will play an important role in providing information to tourists, researchers and others as well as contributing towards building a positive image for the nation said Bedilu Shegen, Chief of the Ethiopian Sustainable Tourism Alliance.

The website was initiated by the Ethiopian Sustainable Tourism Alliance, Tesfa and the Zoological Society all working towards community tourism development.
